Trouble with rewards is that the reward is often too tempting to wait for. Or else I can't afford the reward I want. But!! A new ikea catalogue came through my door and I made myself wait until I'd been to the supermarket AND do exercises (I'm on a health kick currently) till I made (yet another) banana smoothie and sat on my arse to read it and guess what ... I managed. Admire my willpower! I let that baby sit there untouched in plain view. A whole new full length ikea catalogue! I feel a sense of virtue I haven't felt in ages! I wish it could be like this all the time..

One of my examples of how my lists end up with totally random things thrown into them...join credit union?

I just added sourpuss as a maintainer because...um...she knows stuff about computers and stuff. And so do the only other two members but...I DUNNO. I'm just crazy with the power!
miss_jen should post some of her lists and charts because seriously that lady is organised to the max. Well...her work life is, her bedroom on the other hand...

what's with all the...?

Bad bad diet coke cravings- not helped by the discovery that the apple and blackcurrant juice I normally drink as a replacement is made with aspartame in too.

I'm more of a list person, scribbled pages of to do lists with items ranging from the reasonable ("do cat box") to the less reasonable ("learn photoshop"). I guess I need to keep it realistic. Do you have unrealistic to dos? I have a friend who had 'learn Russian' on a to do list between 'wash up' and tidy lounge. When making your to-dos do you start off with normal stuff and then start including wild daydream type stuff. Do you have to-dos that have been hanging around forever (eg finish xmas gift for friends that was from last xmas). Priotising to-do lists! Thats what I'm talking about I think.

I may get some stickers, maybe if my lists were prettier I might feel more inspired.

sites like http://www.flylady.net/ are handy but a bit weirdly cultish, maybe I'm too english for all that enthusiasm.

also today after three days of wearing my pyjamas I have got up, got dressed and made a 'No diet coke' sticker chart with the aim of a)using up some stickers and b)rewarding myself for not drinking the stuff. Not sure when I should get to give myself rewards- any parents out there who can suggest a suitable reward giving time?

I also made a '1/2 and hour of tidying/sorting stuff out a day' sticker chart in the hopes I will get more organised.

I'm 32 and I need sticker charts.
I'm 32 and I have millions of stickers to use on said charts.

and the response I got that made me realise I wasn't the only 32 year old in the world who needed stickers and treats in order to get basic chores done.

badasstronaut suggested this could become art and maybe i'd like to make it something like that- a collection of the ways people record and reward themselves. If you post something on here I may well steal it and make it into something else, probably featuring a slide show and some paintings.

Or just post here to show people how inventive your record keeping can be, how huge your sticker collection is and just what works and what doesn't.

If you can help me decide what are suitable treats for a week/month without diet coke i'd appreciate it.
